Document Metadata Inspector & Cleaner

See what a PDF or Word file reveals, choose what to remove, then download a verified cleaned copy.

Everything runs on this device. Your document is never uploaded. How it stays private

No document inspected yet

PeachSoft will list descriptive fields, author details, timestamps and other package metadata it can safely identify.

This tool removes file metadata. It does not alter visible wording or remove statistical patterns that may exist in written language.

How to

  1. Choose one PDF or DOCX file.
  2. Review each discovered metadata field.
  3. Select the fields you are authorised to remove.
  4. Download the cleaned copy and keep the original if you need an audit trail.

Why do this on your device

Metadata can expose names, software, timestamps and document history that are not obvious on the page. PeachSoft inspects and cleans the file locally, which is useful for confidential, legal and client documents.

Limits

The inspector covers standard PDF document information and XMP packets, plus DOCX core, application, custom, comment and revision identities. It reports signatures, external links and embedded package content without silently removing them because doing so could change or invalidate the document.

FAQ

Does this change visible text?
No. Metadata cleanup is separate from editing document content.
Does it remove an AI writing watermark?
It can remove file-level metadata and credentials it identifies. It cannot remove statistical patterns in the wording itself.
Is the original overwritten?
No. PeachSoft creates a separate cleaned copy for download.
