What it is for
Page Numbers, Watermark and the Metadata Inspector & Cleaner handle common document finishing and privacy tasks locally.
Before you start
Keep the original and make sure you are authorised to change the document.
Inspect and clean metadata
- Open Metadata cleaner and choose one PDF or DOCX file.
- Review the names, timestamps, application details and extended metadata PeachSoft identifies.
- Keep Recommended selected or choose individual fields.
- Clean the selected metadata.
- Download the verified cleaned copy.
What you get
A separate cleaned document. The original is not overwritten, and visible wording is not changed.
Good to know
File metadata is different from visible text and statistical patterns in writing. Signatures, external links and package content are reported but not silently removed when that could invalidate or alter the document.
Troubleshooting
- A range fails: use valid page numbers.
- A watermark image fails: use JPG or PNG.
- Metadata remains elsewhere: inspect embedded files and images separately if your policy requires it.
