Start the local workspace

From the PeachSoft folder, run python3 serve.py and open 127.0.0.1:8080. If that port is occupied, use python3 serve.py --port 8081 and 127.0.0.1:8081.

Keep the server running. PDF tools cannot run directly from a file:// address. All PDF and OCR dependencies are bundled, so no internet connection is needed for document work.

PDF or project?

Download PDF, Save PDF and Ctrl/Cmd+S save a PDF copy. Project JSON saves an editable project, not a PDF. Open the original PDF before loading its project backup.

Scanned text and missing fonts

Use OCR for image-only pages. OCR can misread characters. If a PDF's embedded font lacks a replacement character, Match font selects an approximate alternative at the original size. Inspect replacements before export.

A file will not open

A password error requires an unprotected copy. A damaged-file error means the PDF could not be read. If the local PDF engine cannot load, check the server, preserve any current work, then reload the tool.

Local edition boundaries

There are no cloud accounts, team roles or online sync. Transcripts formats pasted captions and SRT/VTT files; it does not transcribe audio from a YouTube URL. Encryption exports .peach packages, and signatures are visual marks.
